Ledge Walking Technology: The quick and painless system of knowing when to push leaders off the performance ledge…and when to simply talk them off the Mt. Training
Ledge Walking Technology (LWT) is a creative and measurable conceptual blend of performance technology tools with the strategic needs of the organization. The innovative nature of this conceptual blend breathes new life into the tried and true standard tools of performance technology, and leverages blended measurement tools and colorful story telling techniques. The practical application of LWT rapidly enables the performance technologist to identify, select, communicate, implement and measure both instructional and non-instructional solutions. Each of these systematic stages of the performance technology process presents the technologist with challenges we like to call ledges. It is these ledges that we must rapidly decide to either pull our organizational leaders from or simply push them off.
Kery Mortenson has 25 years leading performance improvement and learning strategies for global health care employees and organizations. He is a Certified Performance Technologist (CPT). In 2006, He was president of International Society for Performance Improvement (ISPI) Chicago Chapter. He is an adjunct professor of organizational leadership at Trinity International University in Deerfield, IL. He is currently serving as the Chair for the ISPI Nominations Committee for 2013.
Kery designs high impact learning curriculums and interventions for corporate initiatives. He successfully developed and implemented global training evaluation standards and guidelines. He has a mastery level of knowledge and experience in adult learning principles and facilitation techniques.
Tim Gillum, Ph.D. has worked both in academic and business environments for more than 15 years focusing on learning and change management within regulated environments.
Tim has designed and implemented end-to-end training systems for start-up facilities in both the U.S. and Europe and rebuilt training systems for organizations under Consent Decree with the FDA. His area of expertise centers on aligning learning organizations to the company’s overall strategy and leveraging LEAN performance tools to optimize the human capital within the organization.
Tim has a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry from St. Louis University, a MBA from Webster University and a Doctor of Philosophy in Educational Leadership from the University of Missouri – St. Louis.
In his current role at Baxter, Tim is the Global Process Owner for Quality Training and is accountable for the organizations Learning Management System.
