A Day in the Life of Learning Experience Designers



What does a Learning Experience Designer do? How is that different from instructional design? Join us as Peggy Naydock, Jennifer Brown, and Pamela Perry discuss their work at Anthem. Peggy, Julie, and Pamela will also discuss:

  • How their group is organized.
  • How they align their efforts with strategic business objectives.
  • The types of learning experiences they create and for whom.
  • The relationship of learning and the other forms of performance support Anthem provides.

Peggy Naydock

Peggy Naydock is a Senior Learning Experience Designer with over 14 years of experience with Anthem’s Learning & Development team. She began her career as a Customer Service Representative before moving into National Training as a Documentation Analyst. Currently, Peggy manages multiple projects and acts as a mentor to many of her Learning and Development colleagues.

Peggy is a Certified Instructional Technologist (CIT) and Certified Performance Consultant (CPC) and also has Information Mapping and Synchronous Design Certification (SDC). She is currently pursuing a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Business Administration and a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Management & Leadership from Franklin University.

Peggy is always looking for new and innovative ways to develop herself by setting short and long term goals!


Jennifer Brown

Jennifer Brown is a Learning Experience Designer Lead with over 12 years of experience in training design, development and delivery. She currently supports Anthem’s Commercial business with a focus on the clinical area.

Jennifer is passionate about sharing her Instructional Design knowledge. She presented at two International Society for Performance Improvement (ISPI) conferences focusing on Rapid Instructional Design and Gamification.

Jennifer is a life-long learner and is currently pursuing her Bachelor’s Degree in Communications at Southern New Hampshire University.


Pamela Perry

Pamela Perry has over 15 years of Instructional Design experience beginning her career creating and delivering classroom training to now creating robust flipped classrooms.

During this time, Pamela has had the opportunity to travel the country providing learning solutions for various industries such as retail, finance, health care, government, and non-profit organizations which has included classroom training, learning management system implementation and online training/eLearning.

Pamela is a Learning Experience Designer with Anthem and currently lives in Canal Winchester, OH. She has her Master’s in Business Administration from Ohio Dominican University in addition to her Certification in Training and Development.
