Educational/Professional Background:

Dr. Chyung received her Doctor of Education degree in Instructional Technology from Texas Tech University and joined the Organizational Performance and Workplace Learning at Boise State University in 1996.

Teaching:

Dr. Chyung regularly teaches:

  • OPWL 531 Quantitative Research in Organizations

She has also taught other courses such as: Rapid E-Learning Development, E-Learning Principles and Practices, and Foundations of Instructional and Performance Technology.

Scholarly, Creative or Research Activities:

Her recent research projects include an investigation of ethical challenges in evaluation practice, development of fundamental concepts and procedures for conducting program evaluations, and development of statistically-tested valid and reliable instruments to assess factors that influence learning and performance outcomes.

Dr. Chyung published two textbooks by HRD Press, and over 40 papers in professional and academic research journals, and refereed conference proceedings. She has presented numerous papers in regional, national and international conferences such as: American Evaluation Association (AEA), International Society for Performance Improvement (ISPI), Association for Educational Communications and Technology (AECT), American Educational Research Association (AERA), Association for Advancement for Computing in Education (AACE), American Society for Training and Development (ASTD) (Treasure Valley Chapter), and Distance Teaching and Learning conference.

Dr. Chyung has been involved in grant writing and projects in collaboration with engineering faculty in order to enhance the quality of engineering education by utilizing innovative instructional technology and e-learning strategies and conducting program evaluations.
