Each faculty member provides a unique set of professional experience and expertise in such areas as instructional design, e-learning, adult learning, training, project management, performance support systems, performance consulting, needs assessment, organizational development, change management, organizational research and evaluation, etc. OPWL faculty are members of professional associations and societies such as International Society for Performance Improvement (ISPI), Association for Talent Development (ATD), American Evaluation Association (AEA), and E-Learning Guild.
In addition to the department faculty, OPWL adjunct instructors have extensive industry experiences in developing and implementing learning and performance support solutions in the industry.
Jo Ann Fenner has been with the department since 1990. Brandalyn Khumalo-Athons joined the team in 2011, and Kelly Weak joined the team in 2016. In addition to their other department responsibilities, Mr. Weak and Ms. Fenner also serve as as the academic advisors and are often the first point-of-contact for prospective students. Ms. Khumalo-Athons is the department web design specialist and also provides graphic art and visual design for department events and instruction.
