Contact your advisor to ask him or her to review and approve your decision.

Note: Students who have already completed 19 credits should fill the AAC out as soon as possible and get their proposed culminating activity approved by their advisor.

Request to Schedule Culminating Activity Defense

Around the sixth week point in the semester, you will receive an invitation from Operations Manager Kelly Weak providing the available dates for the portfolio defenses. If you are Re-scheduling your defense, it may be later than that. At that time, you will be able to select and sign up for your portfolio defense. The idea is to give you more of a chance to get through the OPWL 592 activities before you schedule the actual date of your defense.

Commencement Activities Around the official University commencement event, the OPWL Department sponsors a recognition event for our student completing either their degree and/or graduate certificate. More information about these events will be emailed to our students before the events.

Please note, if you are earning a graduate certificate only, the University does not permit you to formally walk in the ceremony.

If you have any questions, please contact Kelly Weak by email at or by phone at 208-426-1312.
